The Importance of H2O to Your health

The word H20 - two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen which refers as water is so important. It’s one of the most essential elements to health and is so important that your body because it has a specific drought management system in place to prevent dehydration.

Water makes up more than two thirds of human body weight, and without water, we would probably die in fewer days. You may not be aware that the human brain is made up of 95% water, blood is 82% and lungs 90%. Study reveals that a mere 2% drop in our body's water supply can trigger signs of dehydration.

In other words, water is important to the mechanics of the human body. Your body cannot work without it, just like a vehicle cannot run without petrol or diesel. In fact, all the cell and organ functions that make up the entire human body structure and physiology depend greatly on water for their proper functioning.

As a rule of thumb, the functions of water:

  • Water forms the base for saliva
  • Water forms the fluids that surround the joints.
  • Water helps to regulate body temperature.
  • Water helps to regulate metabolism.
  • Water helps to alleviate constipation by moving food through the intestinal tract.

No doubt water is a prominent component to our body, it would make sense that the quality of the water should be just as important as the quantity. Drinking water should always be extreme clean and healthy to ensure proper health and wellness.
